Hey, I’m Amanda!
I’m a North Carolina-grown mama living in the Charlotte area with my husband, Devin. We have a 2.5 year old son named Easton and an almost 3 month old baby girl named Eleanor. We have 2 awesome border collies, Scout & Stella, and a cat named Patches.
We originally created this blog as a place to write about our travel nurse adventures that started in Charleston, SC. We didn’t make it very far in our blogging efforts but I’m jumping back into this space to share about my experience as a mom, our passion for wellness, and any other ramblings that I’m passionate enough to write about. It turns out life’s adventures don’t just show up in the form of traveling and we’ve most recently found that out through our journey in parenthood.
First things first, you should know that I love Jesus. Know what I love about Him? I’m far from perfect, but He loves me anyway! His grace and mercy have been so evident throughout my life and even more so as I became a mom. I’ve realized more than ever that God’s strength is found in my weakness (long nights with sleep-fighting babies, anyone?). His love for me has taught me that motherhood and life in general means giving yourself grace upon grace because He is giving it away freely. I’m thankful for my ever-changing and growing walk with the Lord and how much its changed from my on-fire teenage & college years to my quiet, deep, and personal adult relationship with our Creator.
I couldn’t do any of this life stuff without my ride or die, my hubby, Devin. We are both nurses (met in nursing school in 2011) and have worked with nearly every age group from premature babies to geriatric patients between the two of us. My most recent accomplishment however, was birthing our sweet baby girl. I’ve also become a stay-at-home mama since my son was born. I know you guys are thinking that means I live this really luxurious life but in all reality, I spend most of my days in yesterday’s PJs and drink cold coffee while I chase a toddler around handing him snacks and rocking a baby in the other arm. I also run a rockin’ Young Living business that empowers others to look at their health as an investment instead of an expense.
I’m really into those fun personality tests because they’ve really helped me dive into who I am as a person! This helps in so many areas of my life, especially our marriage and when I’m having a hard day/season. They are all really great but my favorite, and the one I’ve found to be the most helpful is the Enneagram. I’m a 2w3. How about you? Lets be real, anyone who REALLY knows me will tell you I’m a major procrastinator and I never meet a stranger. Motherhood has absolutely turned me into more of an introvert than I expected, which has in turn kept me from community a good bit. That’s something I’m working on this year. Traveling is something that is near and dear to my gypsy soul. I used to have a goal to visit every country on earth (#bucketlist) due to my never ending sense of wanderlust but then reality set in and I realized there are a lot of unsafe places in the world. Also, traveling is really expensive. 😆 However, I did manage to go on a safari in Kenya once and it was the Lion King in real life. I’ve also been to Jamaica & Aruba. Hoping for more travels in my future! I’m passionate about fighting against human trafficking, toxin free living, drinking quality coffee, and am a total sucker for fresh flowers at the farmer’s market. I’ve got this really fun group of over 500 people who have joined us in a wellness journey over the last 5 years (which you’ll hear plenty about on this blog). If you’re looking for a place to start your own wellness journey, our door is always open.
I hope you’ll enjoy getting to know our family as we share our life’s adventures. Cheers to the roaring 20s. 🎉
❤️Amanda
